If you are in Valley county it's always a good idea to stop by Louie Lake. Louie Lake gets a common amount of precipitation; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A scenic lake like Boulder Lake in the neighborhood of Louie Lake is a perfect place to explore, and Louie Lake is right by the Louie Lake Trail. Louie Lake really is in the middle of a charming outdoors paradise.

| | Stay the night at Paddy Flat Campground, and Boulder Meadows Reservoir is a tremendous lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. Jug Meadows is a great location. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Boulder Driveway Trail, and Jughandle Mountain is a peak you can spot from Louie Lake. temperatures at Louie Lake all through the months of summer are in the 80's; the nighttime is a little chillier of course, frequently in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and winter nights
come with lows in the 10's to Louie Lake. Louie Lake is one of the lakes here in the Salmon River Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Payette River - North Fork is so much fun, and Mccall Super 8 Lodge is a wonderful location to get some rest.

 | 11 miles away The trail to Blackmare Lake is in very poor shape. The fire last year weakened the trees and the wind took down many of them. There are several 24-36' logs across the trail preventing horse travel. Hikers can make the trek, but expect to be climbing over a lot of down timber. The trails themselves are not terrible, but they are very loose with decomposed granite sand. The other big problem with the trail is that past the signs at the first bridge, there is absolutely no direction as to where the trails will take you or how far you are along the trails. ... |
