    A visit to Lost Lakes is always a good idea. Going for a hike on the Deadwood River Trail is always a delightful adventure. Lakes are glorious; Cat Lakes is a lake that's near Lost Lakes. You can never get enough of the perfect skiing at Brundage Mountain, and the vista of Red Mountain is delightful. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
For the duration of the warm months at Lost Lakes highs are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down
 
   it sinks down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lost Lakes. You clearly have to go for the Salmon River Mountains. Camping at Sack Creek Campground is always a delightful experience; the Kirkham Ridge Trail is a perfect hiking trail close by. Man, is there a load of enjoyable things to do in the Salmon River Mountains.
And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do close
 
               to Lost Lakes. You can run the rapids of Bear Valley Creek near Lost Lakes, and camping is available at Tennessee Creek Campground. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Payette River - South Fork for all you adrenaline people, and there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Whitehawk Trail. From a rainfall point of view Lost Lakes is a quite typical location; most of the snow falls through January while July is commonly the driest month.
