    It's always fun to stop by Lost Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things in the Salmon River Mountains. Not much rainfall falls here at Lost Lake; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All year is a good time in the Salmon River Mountains if you go for the outdoors. You can run the rapids of Monumental Creek in close proximity to Lost Lake, and Yellowjacket Campground  
   is a fine campground nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by West Puddin Lake; hiking along the Ship Island Trail is great fun. Lakes are great; Turquoise Lake is a lake that's near Lost Lake; Lost Lake is a magnificent place to visit for more than one day, Parrot Placer Campground is a magnificent place to camp nearby. Through the long summer days highs here at Lost Lake get into the 80's,
 
               and the overnight is rather colder of course, regularly in the 40's. For the period of the wintertime highs are typically in the 20's, and overnight lows throughout the winter for Lost Lake tend to be in the 0's.
From Lost Lake you acquire a wonderful panorama of Puddin Mountain, and Lost Lake is right by the South Fork Trail. And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable stuff just keep reading. There's whitewater on Camas Creek for all you thrill seekers; you can have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Waterfall Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains.
