A visit to Lost Lake is always a good idea. This lake is so wonderful. Twentymile Butte is charming and can be made out from Lost Lake, and Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge is a good location to get some rest. On a magnificent day at Lost Lake you can take a hike along the Nellie Mountain Trail; Lost Lake is not the only spot nearby, Twentymile Lake is a nearby lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Clearwater Mountains.

The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lost Lake. At Lost Lake you don’t see much rain; May is when you get the most rain here; February on the other hand is the driest. If the weather is splendid here at Lost Lake, you can go for a hike along the Reed Bar Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Lost Lake
has to offer, you can camp at Sourdough Saddle Campground. These mountains rock, just check out all the entertaining things to do in the Clearwater Mountains. There is a wonderful hiking trail close to Lost Lake called the Pilot Knob Trail, and get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Clearwater River - South Fork.
