An average amount of precipitation falls at Lost Lake; most of the snow falls during January, and the driest month is July. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the Sawtooth Range has to offer. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Brundage Mountain. This is a fine area for folks who like lakes. Josephus Lake is a lake around here, and a great spot to camp here at Lost Lake is Sheepeater Hot Springs Campground.

| | Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! The Sawtooth Range is excellent! Nearby lakes? Sure, Helldiver Lake is near Lost Lake, and good hiking is available along the Garden Creek Trail. Having a great time at Lost Lake is uncomplicated. Get dripping wet paddling on Rapid River, and don't leave Lost Lake without first going for a hike along the Blue Bunch Trail. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Marsh Creek, and camping is available at Lola Creek Campground. This | |

lake is so wonderful. From Lost Lake you obtain a splendid view of Mount Mills, and you can go for a hike on the Bear Valley Creek Trail. High temperatures at Lost Lake through the warm days of summer are in the 80's. Once the sun
is down it dips down to the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lost Lake are in the 10's. Lost Lake is a beautiful lake in the Sawtooth Range.

 | Moderate uphill hike..couple of miles from road; classic rock wall mountain behind lake; nice place to backpack into..day trip or camp overnite; some wild life; hiked in here in summer and early spring when 1 - 2' of snow on ground (and melt was rushing down mountain side beneath snow...flowers growing in ground beneath crystal clear runoff (beneath snow...quite a site).Didn't catch any fish during August trips. Last time I was in there was the 1970's.... |
