The beauty of Long Pool is reason enough to stop by. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Long Pool has to offer, you can camp at Big Hank Campground, and paddling on Couer d'Alene River - Big North Fork is so much fun. There's great hiking along the Rock City Pond Peak Trail, and whitewater paddling is brilliant on Coeur d'Alene River. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Bitterroot Range. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Long Pool. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while Long Pool overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 20's. Recreation Trail. There's so much to do here at Long Pool that you need to camp here for a while, Devils Elbow Campground is a brilliant spot for that. The amount of precipitation that falls at Long Pool is close to the national average;
December is when you get the most snow here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Long Pool; Spyglass Miners Trail is a brilliant local
trail; after a long day outdoors Baymont Inn & Suites Kellogg is a perfect site to spend a night or two. Long Pool is located in the Bitterroot Range. If you want a brilliant time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Long Pool. The skiing at Silver Mountain is pleasant, and hey, Ash Creek is a great local stream.
