A visit to Long Lake is always a good idea. There's fine hiking along the Batt Trail, and a delightful place for whitewater paddling is Bruneau River - West Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Marys Creek is a great whitewater spot near Long Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Long Lake; Tindall Trail is a fine local trail. At Long Lake during the warm days of summer highs are in the 90's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Long Lake all through the winter mostly plunge into the 20's. After a long day outdoors Oasis Ranch Motel is a delightful place to spend a night or two. Don't leave Long Lake without first going for a hike along the Cedar Tree Trail; you're perhaps interested in lakes, Twin Lakes is one of those close by.
