This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lily Pad Lake you can take a hike along the Heavens Gate Trail, and a fine location for whitewater paddling is Little Salmon River. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Wallowa Mountains. On a brilliant day       at Lily Pad Lake you can take a hike along the Old Boise Trail, and Lily Pad Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Seven Devils Campground is a splendid local campground. Just can't get enough of the Wallowa Mountains. Camping at Windy Saddle Campground is always a great experience; if you've had enough of Lily Pad Lake, Shelf Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. The warmest time of the year at Lily Pad Lake arrives with high temperatures                  in the 90's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Lily Pad Lake drop into the 20's. A glorious view of delightful Devils Tooth is available from Lily Pad Lake, needless to say you could also explore Basin Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Having a good time at Lily Pad Lake is easy. There is a glorious hiking trail close to Lily Pad Lake called the Deep Creek Trail, and Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge is a splendid site to get some rest. The Wallowa Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
