Lightning Lake gets very little rain; December is the month that gets the most snow; the driest of the months is July. During the days of summer at Lightning Lake temperatures are usually in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 30's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Lightning Lake.       No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a nice time here at Lightning Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains. At Lightning Lake you can make out Mount Jordan, and if you get bored of Lightning Lake you could also stop by close by Mystery Lake. Be careful coming to the Salmon River Mountains, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Salmon River - Yankee Fork is a splendid whitewater spot next to Lightning Lake, and Lightning                  Lake is not the only place close by, Pinyon Lake is a close by lake. Lightning Lake is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, West Fork Campground is a perfect place to camp nearby; after a long day outdoors SnowRun by ResortQuest is a nice place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.
