This lake is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Lick Lake. A great place for whitewater paddling close to Lick Lake is Salmon River - East Fork of South Fork. Camping at Yellow Pine Campground is always a glorious experience, and in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Johnson Creek.       This lake is so wonderful. Lick Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Golden Gate Campground is a great local campground, and hiking along the Cougar Basin Trail is splendid fun. The top of Cougar Peak is easily seen from Lick Lake, and Lick Lake is right by the Center Mountain Trail. From a rainfall point of view Lick Lake is a quite normal location; January is the month that gets the most snow, and July is when it's the driest. Just can't get                  enough of the Salmon River Mountains. Brundage Mountain is a wonderful local ski area, and you can have a perfect hiking adventure along the Mule Hill Trail. Summer at Lick Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Summer night lows dip down to the 30's.
