Highs during the wintertime are typically in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Lemon Lake plunge into the 0's.    if you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Rexburg is a great choice. Not much rain falls here at Lemon Lake; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Great little slice of wilderness with a wicked put-in below lower mesa falls and just enough boat eating whitewater to weed out most floaters. I see parts of boats wrapped around rocks every year. Not for beginners. Fishing can be good and watch for bears, moose and eagles. An easier float starts part of the way down, accessed by the old Bear Gulch ski resort road, if it's open....

Box Canyon can be floated by most anyone in a canoe, raft, drift boat, kayak or pontoon boat 8'+. There are enough rocks and shoreline sweepers to keep you on your toes. It's mainly floated by anglers or pleasure floaters and is often done several times a day due to it's nice short length of 4 miles. It's not real wilderness but the wilds are closeby and it's got a nice feel....
