Race Creek Campground is a great local campground; Big Fog Mountain is clearly visible from Legend Lake. That right there is plenty of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Clearwater Mountains has it all. Legend Lake is a delightful spot to visit for more than one day, Race Track Campground is a delightful spot to camp nearby; going for a hike on the Meadow Creek National Recreation       Trail is always a glorious adventure. An average amount of rain falls at Legend Lake; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow; the driest month of the year is July. Paddling on Lochsa River is so much fun; you can go for a hike on the East Boyd Glover Roundtop National Recreation Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not go to South Three Links Lakes near Legend Lake; don't leave Legend Lake without first                  going for a hike along the Anderson Butte National Recreation Trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff at Legend Lake. A visit to Canteen Meadows revitalizes the soul, and there are other locations here than Legend Lake, for example Big Fog Lake. Through the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Legend Lake. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Legend Lake tend to be in the 20's. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things in the Clearwater Mountains.
