Langer Lake, Sawtooth Range, Custer County, Idaho     Custom Search User input for Langer Lake, Sawtooth Range, Custer County, Idaho: Chuck: Moderate uphill hike..couple of miles from road; classic rock wall mountain behind lake; nice place to backpack into..day trip or camp overnite; some wild life; hiked in here in summer and early spring when 1 - 2' of snow on ground (and melt was rushing down mountain side beneath snow...flowers growing in ground beneath crystal clear runoff (beneath snow...quite a site).Didn't catch any fish during August trips. Last time I was in there was the 1970's. For the duration of the warm months, highs regularly are in the 80's at Langer Lake, and the night is somewhat colder of course, regularly in the 40's. Highs through the winter are ordinarily in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Langer Lake are in the 10's. Man, is there plenty of exciting stuff to do in the Sawtooth Range. Hiking along the Prospect Creek Trail is tremendous fun,       and camping is available at Lola Creek Campground. Langer Lake is right by the Bear Valley Creek Trail, and paddling on Rapid River is so much fun. So many fun things to do here in the Sawtooth Range, too magnificent to be true. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. Langer Lake is not the only place close by, Ruffneck Lake is a close by lake, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Marsh Creek. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is                  Rocky Lake; if you came for an overnight stay Thatcher Creek Campground is a great spot to camp. Langer Lake is located in the Sawtooth Range. Take a hike on the Blue Bunch Trail, and the sight of Langer Peak is striking.
