Highs during the winter are usually in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at       Lake Rock Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Some nearby water includes Josephine Creek, and there are perfect sites to explore along the Fall Creek Trail. The top of Diamond Rock is easily spotted from Lake Rock Lake, and Lake Rock Lake is a magnificent spot to visit for more than one day, Chinook Campground is a magnificent spot to camp nearby. Lake Rock Lake is a location that is                  pretty dried out mostly; May is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is July. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting things to do in the Salmon River Mountains. Summit Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit; drift down the rapids of Payette River - North Fork in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. You definitely should like the Salmon River Mountains. Near Lake Rock Lake you find the Crestline Trail which is a glorious hiking trail, and going for a hike on the Box Lake Trail is always a good adventure.
