It is very dry here at Kidney Lake frequently; throughout December this area sees the most snow, and the driest month is July. After a long day outdoors Stanley High Country Inn is a glorious place to spend a night or two; Upper Jackass Flat Campground is a delightful campground here. This lake is so wonderful. A cool spot to stop at near Kidney Lake is Feltham Creek Point, and there's whitewater       on Rapid River for all you thrill seekers. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Lower Jackass Flat Campground is a wonderful place to camp, and a great close by hotel is Redfish Lake Lodge. At Kidney Lake during the days of summer highs are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 30's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Kidney                  Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Going for a hike on the Big Baldy Ridge Trail is always a great adventure, and Pinyon Creek is in the vicinity of Kidney Lake and is always a pleasure to stop at. Kidney Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains. If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Salmon River Mountains.
