    Many people like to go to Lake Kathryn. Lake Kathryn is located in the Sawtooth Range. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Lake Kathryn is good fun, Iron Creek Campground is a good local campground, and magnificent hiking is available along the Black Warrior Creek Trail. Don't leave Lake Kathryn without first paying a visit to Smith Falls; you'll find a delightful lake called Bead Lakes.
It's a wonderful idea to stop at Benedict Creek, it's near Lake Kathryn;
 
   in case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Salmon River. At Lake Kathryn through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's; overnight lows at Lake Kathryn through the wintertime typically fall into the 10's. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in close proximity to Lake Kathryn. Don't leave Lake Kathryn  
               without first going for a hike along the Yellow Belly Trail, and Point Campground is a nice campground here.
From a rainfall point of view Lake Kathryn is a rather typical place; January is when you get the most snow here, and the driest month is July. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Sawtooth Range. Dry warm beds await you at Clarion Inn Ketchum, and you can go for a hike on the Bull Moose Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sawtooth Range. Elk Peak is clearly visible from Lake Kathryn; a splendid place for whitewater paddling is Salmon River.
This lake is so wonderful.
