Beautiful Josephus Lake has much to offer visitors. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff to do are in fact abundant here at Josephus Lake. On a gorgeous day you obtain a sight of Mount Mills from Josephus Lake, and there's nice hiking along the Garden Creek Trail. and whitewater paddling is nice on Rapid River. There's so much to do here at Josephus Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sheepeater Hot Springs Campground is a delightful location for that; you'll never forgive yourself
if you don’t go skiing at Brundage Mountain while you're here. But wait, there's more fun stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains. A charming lake like Lost Lake near Josephus Lake is a fine site to check out; there are tremendous
places to explore along the Bear Valley Creek Trail. Josephus Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains.

 | Moderate uphill hike..couple of miles from road; classic rock wall mountain behind lake; nice place to backpack into..day trip or camp overnite; some wild life; hiked in here in summer and early spring when 1 - 2' of snow on ground (and melt was rushing down mountain side beneath snow...flowers growing in ground beneath crystal clear runoff (beneath snow...quite a site).Didn't catch any fish during August trips. Last time I was in there was the 1970's.... |
