    Beautiful Josephus Lake has much to offer visitors. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff to do are in fact abundant here at Josephus Lake. On a gorgeous day you obtain a sight of Mount Mills from Josephus Lake, and there's nice hiking along the Garden Creek Trail. For the duration of the months of summer here at Josephus Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. High temperatures  
   during the winter are normally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Josephus Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. A normal amount of rain falls here at Josephus Lake; January is the wettest month with most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Salmon River Mountains. You'll come across a pretty lake called Helldiver Lake near Josephus Lake. Get dripping wet paddling on Marsh
 
               Creek, and don't leave Josephus Lake without first going for a hike along the Blue Bunch Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Josephus Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Lola Creek Campground is a great local campground, and whitewater paddling is nice on Rapid River.
There's so much to do here at Josephus Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sheepeater Hot Springs Campground is a delightful location for that; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Brundage Mountain while you're here. But wait, there's more fun stuff to do in the Salmon River Mountains. A charming lake like Lost Lake near Josephus Lake is a fine site to check out; there are tremendous places to explore along the Bear Valley Creek Trail. Josephus Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains.

Moderate uphill hike..couple of miles from road; classic rock wall mountain behind lake; nice place to backpack into..day trip or camp overnite; some wild life; hiked in here in summer and early spring when 1 - 2' of snow on ground (and melt was rushing down mountain side beneath snow...flowers growing in ground beneath crystal clear runoff (beneath snow...quite a site).Didn't catch any fish during August trips. Last time I was in there was the 1970's....
