If you need a place to stay Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge is a wonderful choice, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Hard Creek. John Lake is usually a reasonably dried up place; May is when you get the most rain here while July is typically the driest month. That right there is a heap of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Salmon River Mountains has it all. A brilliant place like Devils Hole here at John Lake       is too fine to miss, and if you came to camp Allison Creek Campground is a magnificent spot to do that. So many cool things next to John Lake, absolutely striking. The Broken Leg Trail offers hiking at its best; Patrick Butte is pretty and can be observed from here. This lake is so wonderful. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at John Lake get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. The winter comes                  with highs in the 40's; overnight lows during the wintertime for John Lake tend to be in the 20's. John Lake is not the only place nearby, Mary Lake is a nearby lake, and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Mccall-The Hunt Lodge, Id is a tremendous location to get some rest. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Salmon River Mountains. Hiking is a popular thing to do around John Lake; Lava Butte Trail is a great local trail, unsurprisingly you could also go to Gay Lake since you're here; it's not far at all.
