    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Idaho you can check out Island Lake. Island Lake is one of the lakes here in the Sawtooth Range. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Sawtooth Range. Langer Peak is a peak you can distinguish from Island Lake, naturally you could also have a look at Langer Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. So many enjoyable things to do here at Island Lake, too great to be true. Camping is available at Lola  
   Creek Campground; going for a hike on the Bear Valley Creek Trail is always a perfect adventure.
Island Lake is a good site of normal rainfall; most of the snow falls through January; the driest month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. There are good places to explore along the Blue Bunch Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Thatcher Creek Campground is a good spot to camp. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Rapid River, and you can
 
               go for a hike on the Prospect Creek Trail.
Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is abundant here in the Sawtooth Range. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Island Lake get into the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's with temperatures at Island Lake dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. A lake nearby is Ruffneck Lake; get drenched paddling on Marsh Creek.

Moderate uphill hike..couple of miles from road; classic rock wall mountain behind lake; nice place to backpack into..day trip or camp overnite; some wild life; hiked in here in summer and early spring when 1 - 2' of snow on ground (and melt was rushing down mountain side beneath snow...flowers growing in ground beneath crystal clear runoff (beneath snow...quite a site).Didn't catch any fish during August trips. Last time I was in there was the 1970's....
