While you're here at Island Lake it's a nice idea to take a look at The Kettles, and you can hit the slopes at Sun Valley close at hand. Summer at Island Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 30's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with       winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Island Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A cool spot to stop by close to Island Lake is White Cloud Peaks, and there is a perfect hiking trail nearby called the Yellow Belly Trail. Island Lake is pretty dry frequently; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful. SnowRun by ResortQuest is a perfect site to get some rest. So much amusing                  stuff to do at Island Lake, so little time. While you're here at Island Lake, you could also explore striking Hidden Lake, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Salmon River. There's whitewater on Salmon River - Yankee Fork for all you adrenaline rush seekers; nearby you stumble on The Gunsight which is a tremendous location to stop by.
