You could also visit Soldier Lakes since you're here at Iris Lake; it's nearby, and there's whitewater on Marsh Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. The Bear Valley Creek Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you've had enough of Iris Lake, Cutthroat Lake is close by. Iris Lake is located in the Sawtooth Range. | | hike along the Blue Bunch Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart pumping on the tremendous whitewater of Salmon River - Middle Fork. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Iris Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lola Creek Campground. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Sawtooth Range, too glorious to be true. Mountain. All year is a delightful time in the Sawtooth Range if you fancy the outdoors. Iris Lake is a good place of common precipitation; January is the month that gets the most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest.
High temperatures at Iris Lake all through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; night lows in the 10's for Iris Lake.

 | Moderate uphill hike..couple of miles from road; classic rock wall mountain behind lake; nice place to backpack into..day trip or camp overnite; some wild life; hiked in here in summer and early spring when 1 - 2' of snow on ground (and melt was rushing down mountain side beneath snow...flowers growing in ground beneath crystal clear runoff (beneath snow...quite a site).Didn't catch any fish during August trips. Last time I was in there was the 1970's.... |
