What a nice lake Iris Lake is. Summertime at Iris Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Iris Lake. A good spot to camp here at Iris Lake is Sheepeater Hot Springs Campground; there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Marsh Creek. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun

| | stuff in the Sawtooth Range. Hiking along the Prospect Creek Trail is nice fun. Lakes are splendid; Cutthroat Lake is a lake that's right next door to Iris Lake. The Sawtooth Range scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Salmon River - Middle Fork; you're in all probability keen on lakes, Soldier Lakes is one of those nearby. view Iris Lake is a quite typical spot; through January this area sees the most snow; the driest month is July. And that's not all you can do here at Iris Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bear Valley Creek Trail; why
not camp at Lola Creek Campground while you're here at Iris Lake. That right there is a heap of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Sawtooth Range has it all. Iris Lake is right by the Blue Bunch Trail; a day on the slopes of Brundage Mountain is just what you need.

 | Moderate uphill hike..couple of miles from road; classic rock wall mountain behind lake; nice place to backpack into..day trip or camp overnite; some wild life; hiked in here in summer and early spring when 1 - 2' of snow on ground (and melt was rushing down mountain side beneath snow...flowers growing in ground beneath crystal clear runoff (beneath snow...quite a site).Didn't catch any fish during August trips.
