If you like lakes and you're in this part of Idaho you can check out Horton Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A fine place to camp here at Horton Lake is Upper Payette Campground, and Horton Lake is right by the Lava Butte Trail. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Horton Lake; Crestline Trail is a good local trail, and Horton Lake is not the only location close by, Ellis Lake is a close by lake. | | Granite Lake Dam which is a gorgeous site beyond doubt worth checking out; why not take a refreshing hike along the Box Lake Trail.
At Horton Lake during the summertime highs are in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. River Mountains. Camping at Upper Payette Lake Campground is always a delightful experience, and a delightful nearby hotel is Western Mountain Lodge. This lake is so wonderful. AmericInn McCall is a tremendous site to get some rest.
Horton Lake is generally a quite dried up place; throughout May this area sees the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Payette River - North Fork, and Lake Creek is near Horton
Lake and is always a diversion to visit. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Salmon River Mountains. Near Horton Lake you discover Fisher Creek Saddle which is a splendid place to stop by, and at Horton Lake you can observe Black Tip.
