A visit to Horse Lake is always a good idea. Horse Lake is located in the Wasatch Range. This lake is so wonderful. On a pleasant day at Horse Lake you can take a hike along the Limber Pine Trail, and Horse Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Cloverleaf Campground is a nice local campground. Through the months of summer at Horse Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. The cold days of

| | the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Horse Lake. Horse Lake is regularly a reasonably dehydrated place; June is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is July. Trail; Logan River is a great whitewater spot nearby. But wait, there's more amusing things to do in the Wasatch Range. Do have a look at Hidden Lake close to Horse Lake, it's a wonderful lake, and a great spot like Gibson Basin
here at Horse Lake is too good to miss. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Wasatch Range. A great spot to camp here at Horse Lake is Porcupine Campground, and you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Bloomington Lake
Trail. Blue Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to, and the slopes of Beaver Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. This lake is so wonderful.

Bloomington Lake Trail
 | ...n Lake Trail and Bloomington Lake is up Bloomington Canyon on the West Side of the Bear Lake Valley. The canyon road is accessed off of Highway 89 in the community of Bloomington. It is approximately 11 miles to the top of the canyon and parking area. The road is dirt and gravel and suitable for most passenger cars. It is a short trail to the lake where you will be rewarded with a beautiful high mountain lake with high surrounding cliffs. There are many trails the lead off from the canyon and connect to other surrounding canyons. One of the more notable trails is the Highline Trail. This is an approximate 60 mile trail that runs north and south along the ridge line of the mountains. The trail can be accessed at many point including the top of Bloomington Canyon. At the parking area the road continues a bit futher west and the road turns into a trail that leads up to the ridge.  | The Limber Pine trail is more of a nature walk than a hike. It's good for kids and those seeking an easy, short trail. Educational posting about flora, etc. are included around this loop trail. It's fun, too, even if you are a serious hiker. I think I could complete the loop in 15 minutes, but one posting I saw said 45 minutes. Walk it and find out. Easy access right off the road.... |
