Horse Heaven Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Horse Heaven Lake is located in the Wallowa Mountains. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Horse Heaven Lake has to offer, you can camp at Windy Saddle Campground; Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge is a nice location to get some rest. Go for a hike on the Old Boise Trail; if you get bored of Horse Heaven Lake you could also stop at nearby Baldy Lake.

| | Lake temperatures are frequently in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and overnight lows at Horse Heaven Lake all through the winter regularly drop into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Horse Heaven
Lake. Don't leave Horse Heaven Lake without first going for a hike along the Heavens Gate Trail; dry warm beds await you at Western Mountain Lodge. Horse Heaven Lake is a location that is rather dried out frequently; most of the rain
falls through May, and July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Deep Creek Trail; whitewater paddling is wonderful on Snake River.
But wait, there's more entertaining things
to do in the Wallowa Mountains. Get wet paddling on Little Salmon River; why not a little side trip to Mill Creek.
