The Wallowa Mountains is excellent! Hornet Creek-Upper Dam is an exciting thing to check out, and if you need a site to stay Best Western Inn & Suites is a good choice. Be careful coming to Hornet Reservoir, you might not ever wanna go home again. Wildhorse River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, and you can see Cuddy Mountains from Hornet Reservoir.       Hornet Reservoir is in a magnificent location in the shadow of the Cuddy Mountains, and if you came for an overnight stay Lafferty Campground is a great site to camp. This lake is one of the great places here in the Wallowa Mountains. Through the summertime at Hornet Reservoir highs are mostly in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 40's. Through the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Hornet Reservoir. You just                  can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing things the Wallowa Mountains has to offer. Around Hornet Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rainfall; December is the wettest month with most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You should certainly have a look at Devils Slide while you're here at Hornet Reservoir, and McCornick Campground is a great campground here. This lake is so wonderful.
