Through the winter highs are commonly in the 30's, and night lows at Hornet Reservoir through the winter commonly fall into the 10's. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Wallowa Mountains. Lakes are such serene sites, why not explore Rush Lake       near Hornet Reservoir. This lake is one of the great places here in the Wallowa Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Wildhorse River in a kayak, and you can take a little journey to Hornet Creek-Upper Dam while you're here at Hornet Reservoir. Hornet Reservoir sits in the shade of the Cuddy Mountains; you should definitely explore Devils Slide while you're here. If you like the outdoors, you'll go for Hornet Reservoir. Why not                  camp at Lafferty Campground if you're here at Hornet Reservoir, and the Sheep Rock National Recreation Trail is a glorious hiking trail nearby. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Wallowa Mountains. Hornet Reservoir is regularly a relatively dried up place; through the month of December you get the most snow around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month.
