The beauty of Hillside Reservoir is reason enough to stop by. Dry warm beds await you at Towle's Motel. Hillside Reservoir is not the only spot close by, Dry Gulch Reservoir is a close by lake, and after a long day outdoors Shoshone Inn is a glorious spot to spend a night or two. Not much rain falls here at Hillside Reservoir; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow; August meanwhile is the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful.

| | There are some good whitewater spots on Big Wood River, and the Black Butte Hills is one of the things that make Hillside Reservoir so brilliant. Throughout the days of summer at Hillside Reservoir highs are regularly in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's.
