You can take a little tour to Herrick Dam while you're here at Herrick Reservoir, and going for a hike along the Sixmile Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. All year is a great time in the Salmon River Mountains if you go for the outdoors. There's so much to do here at Herrick Reservoir that       you need to camp here for a while, Trinity Pines Camp & Conferenc is a great location for that; dry warm beds await you at Ashley Inn. Get your heart pumping on the wonderful whitewater of Payette River - North Fork, and for you golfers we recommend close by Cascade Golf Course. That right there is loads already, but it goes on; Herrick Reservoir has it all. If the weather is pleasant here at Herrick Reservoir, you can go for a hike along the Bear Wallow Trail, and                  lakes are such calm places, why not check out East Mountain Reservoir. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Salmon River Mountains, too good to be true. If you need a location to stay Mccall Super 8 Lodge is a glorious choice; you can have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Skunk Creek Trail. Throughout the warm months at Herrick Reservoir highs are frequently in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are frequently in the 20's while Herrick Reservoir nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. Herrick Reservoir gets very little rain; through the month of December you get the most snow around here, and July is the month with the least moisture. Don't forget to take a good little trip to Skunk Creek, and you can run the rapids of Payette River - Middle Fork. This lake is so wonderful.
