This lake is so wonderful. On a good day at Hero Lake you can take a hike along the Dead Mule Trail, and here at Hero Lake you can make out Crag Peak. This place, Hero Lake, it clearly has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. If you came to camp Aquarius Campground is a pleasant site to do that, and in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on St. Joe River. This lake is so wonderful. | | Bitterroot Range. Near Hero Lake you stumble on the Shin Point Trail which is a great hiking trail, and a nice spot for whitewater paddling is Clearwater River - North Fork. The amount of rain that falls at Hero Lake is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is generally January, that's the one that snows the most, and July on the other hand is the driest. Campground is a tremendous local campground. During the warmest time of the year highs here at Hero Lake get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are frequently in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Hero Lake tend to be in the 20's.
