For the duration of the months of summer here at Herman Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 80's while nighttime lows are typically in the 40's. Through the winter this place       gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Herman Lake. After a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Libby is a perfect site to spend a night or two, and Meadow Creek Campground is a fine local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Twin Rivers Canyon Resort is a splendid campground nearby, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Newton Gulch Trail. Near Herman Lake you locate the Burro Ridge Trail which is a magnificent                  hiking trail. There's whitewater on Kootenai for all you adrenaline junkies, and the Leonia Trail is a great hiking trail close by. If you're here at Herman Lake, you could stop by Kingsley Creek, and you can run the rapids of Yaak River.
