The beauty of Heart Lake is reason enough to stop by. This lake is located in the wonderful Bitterroot Range. Looking for something near Heart Lake? Crag Lake is close by, and there are some good whitewater spots on Clearwater River - North Fork. This lake is so wonderful. The Old Montana Trail offers hiking at its best; if you need a location to stay Mangold General Store & Motel is a nice choice.

| | are regularly in the 80's while night lows are usually in the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's, and night lows in the 20's for Heart Lake. Good hiking is available along the Dead Mule Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Heart Lake has to offer, you can camp at Aquarius Campground. Heart Lake is a good location of normal rain; most of the snow falls throughout January; the driest month is July. Just can't get enough of Heart
Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Heart Lake; Shin Point Trail is a good local trail. There's so much to do here at Heart Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sousie Creek Campground is a glorious spot for that.
But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Bitterroot Range. A quick journey to Elmer Creek near Heart Lake is a good idea.
