The beauty of Heart Lake attracts many people from all around. All the outdoors amusing stuff next to Heart Lake will keep you coming back again and again. The Shin Point Trail is a glorious hiking trail in the neighborhood of Heart Lake, and lakes are such calm locations, why not explore Crag Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Clearwater River - North Fork; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along

| | the Dead Mule Trail. Be careful coming to the Bitterroot Range, you might not ever want to return home again. You'll find a pretty lake called Northbound Lake near Heart Lake, and there is a perfect hiking trail nearby called the Old Montana Trail. Heart Lake gets a common amount of rain; January is the wettest month with most snow; July on the other hand is the driest. and from Heart Lake you obtain a great vista of Crag Peak. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bitterroot Range. For the period of the days of summer highs here at Heart Lake reach the 80's. During the moonlight hours
it's generally in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Heart Lake tend to be in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Aquarius Campground since
you're here at Heart Lake; there's whitewater on St. Joe River for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful. That right there is a lot of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Bitterroot Range has it all. Elmer
Creek is close to Heart Lake and is always a diversion to take a look at, and why not head up to Lookout Pass and strap some skis to your feet.

Lookout Pass

The local ski pioneers chose Lookout Pass because of the abundant snowfall and excellent snow quality which they could access by jumping on the Northern Pacific railcars as they proceeded east from the mining towns of Wallace and Mullan, Idaho.
