Going for a hike on the Clear Creek Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and not far from Heart Lake you'll locate Airplane Lake which is a charming lake. Throughout the summer months highs here at Heart Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Heart Lake. This lake       is located in the wonderful Salmon River Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Panther Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby, and why not camp at Crags Campground while you're here at Heart Lake. Yeah, come up here to the Salmon River Mountains for a pleasant time. You get a good sight of Mount McGuire from Heart Lake; camping is available at Yellowjacket Campground. Just can't get enough of Heart Lake. There is a perfect hiking trail close                  to Heart Lake called the Waterfall Trail; in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Camas Creek. Be careful coming to the Salmon River Mountains, you might not ever wanna return back home again. The Ship Island Trail is a nice hiking trail close to Heart Lake. Lakes? Sure, Terrace Lakes is around here.
