There's no way someone can get bored here in the Salmon River Mountains. Hiking along the Waterfall Trail is great fun, and get your heart pumping on the fine whitewater of Camas Creek. You can run the rapids of Panther Creek right next door to Heart Lake, and here at Heart Lake you can catch a sight of Mount McGuire. Heart Lake is located in the Salmon River Mountains. Heart Lake is usually a quite dried up spot; most       of the rain falls during June; the driest of the months is February. Now, you may think that's a load but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Heart Lake. You'll discover a wonderful lake called Airplane Lake near Heart Lake. Take a hike on the Ship Island Trail. There's so much to do here at Heart Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Yellowjacket Campground is a good spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Clear                  Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and Heart Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Crags Campground is a delightful local campground. Throughout the months of summer here at Heart Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's.
