     It is very dry here at Hat Creek Lakes commonly; the month with most of the rain is June while February is commonly the driest month. You can distinguish Taylor Mountain from Hat Creek Lakes; get covered with water paddling on Salmon River. Yeah, come up here to the Salmon River Mountains for a great time. There's so much to do here at Hat Creek Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Iron Lake Campground is a great location for that, and going for a hike  
   on the Singheiser Trail is always a wonderful adventure.
Opal Lake is a magnificent lake near Hat Creek Lakes; there are nice sites to discover along the Twin Buttes Trail. During the warm days of summer highs here at Hat Creek Lakes get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's while Hat Creek Lakes night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's. Don't try to stop
 
               me, cause I'm havin' a nice time here at Hat Creek Lakes. Lakes? Sure, Iron Lake is close at hand, and if you came to camp Royal Gorge Motel is a tremendous site to do that.
Be careful coming to the Salmon River Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Panther Creek, and you can go for a hike on the Birch Creek Trail. Hat Creek Lakes is one of the lakes here in the Salmon River Mountains.
