    Hat Creek Lakes is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. At Hat Creek Lakes during the long summer days highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Hat Creek Lakes dip into the 0's. If the weather is splendid here at Hat Creek Lakes, you can go for a hike along the Twin Buttes Trail, and a striking lake like Iron Lake is  
   a pleasant site to pop by. This spot is excellent, just look at all the cool things to do in close proximity to Hat Creek Lakes. Camping is available at Iron Lake Campground; you'll hit upon a beautiful lake called Opal Lake.
Around Hat Creek Lakes you don’t get a lot of precipitation; through June this area sees the most rain; the driest month is February. This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. Going for a hike along
 
               the Singheiser Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; on a pretty day you get a fine vista of Taylor Mountain from Hat Creek Lakes.
And that's not all you can do here in the Salmon River Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. On a tremendous day at Hat Creek Lakes you can take a hike along the Birch Creek Trail, and a glorious location for whitewater paddling is Panther Creek. So many exciting things in the Salmon River Mountains, just fantastic. If you came for an overnight stay Royal Gorge Motel is a nice site to camp, and get your heart pumping on the tremendous whitewater of Salmon River.
