If you get bored of Hard Butte Lake, you could also pop by nearby Lower Twin Lake, and soar down the rapids of Hard Creek in a kayak. Hard Butte Lake gets very little precipitation; throughout May this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. Having a glorious time in the Salmon River Mountains is easy. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Hard Butte       Lake has to offer, you can camp at Allison Creek Campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Hazard Creek. Summertime highs at Hard Butte Lake usually tend to be in the 90's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's; nighttime lows at Hard Butte Lake during the winter usually sink into the 20's.
