Went here on 7/11/09. It's about a 20 minute hike (flat ground) to the lake.  The water was down about 18'' from full.  Weeds in the water up to about 20' from the bank.  Big blue gill were caught. A few small smallmouth.  Fished from the bank.  Would advise taking float tubes for a trip here.

    Halverson Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Not much rainfall falls here at Halverson Lake; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Looking for something near Halverson Lake? Hulet-Sinker Creek Reservoir is in the neighborhood, and dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn Nampa. This lake is so wonderful. Halverson Lake is not the only place close by,  
   Jensen Lake is a close by lake, and Givens Hot Springs is a splendid campground nearby.
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites NAMPA is a magnificent spot to get some rest. Summertime highs at Halverson Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's while night lows are usually in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Halverson Lake dip into the 20's. Don’t forget
