There's so much to do here at Halo Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hidden Creek Campground is a brilliant site for that, and why not take a little trip to Bean Creek while you're here. Forage Lake is a fine lake in the neighborhood of Halo Lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Clearwater River - North Fork. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Halo Lake has to offer, you can camp at Spruce Tree Campground, and get wet paddling on St. Joe River.
