This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Powerplant Campground is a magnificent place to camp, and glorious hiking is available along the Bremner Trail. And if that's not sufficient there's plenty more exciting things to do in the Sawtooth Range. Go for a hike on the Yuba River Trail; a lake close by is Leggit Lake. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! Grouse Lakes rules! If you get bored       of Grouse Lakes, you could also go to nearby Ross Fork Lakes, and unsurprisingly Senator Creek is a striking stream that is worth a visit. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Soldier Mountain Ski Resort, and Bighorn Campground is a delightful local campground. Now, you may imagine that's a lot but there's even more fun things to do here in the Sawtooth Range. At Grouse Lakes during the months of summer highs are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures                  are in the 40's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Grouse Lakes are in the 10's. The Sawtooth Range scenery is always beautiful. Gunsight Peak is wonderful and can be distinguished from Grouse Lakes, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Grouse Lakes; Hot Springs Creek Trail is a great local trail.
