    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Granite Lake. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Camping at Upper Payette Campground is always a pleasant experience, and if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Payette River - North Fork. Through the days of summer highs here at Granite Lake reach the 90's. During the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are typically  
   in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Granite Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. And that's not all there is to do here in the Salmon River Mountains. Granite Lake is right by the Box Lake Trail.
East Fork Fisher Creek is a nice place to stop by, and hiking along the Fall Creek Trail is wonderful fun. The Crestline Trail offers hiking at its best, and not far from Granite Lake you acquire some pleasant water scenery at Granite Lake
 
               Dam. At Granite Lake you don’t see much rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
So many cool things in the Salmon River Mountains, just impressive. Don’t forget to go to Sater Meadows since you're here at Granite Lake, and Whitetail Club and Resort is a great site to get some rest. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Upper Payette Lake Campground is a great location to do that, and dry warm beds await you at AmericInn McCall.
