This lake is so wonderful. Granite Lake is right by the Mill Creek Trail, and the vista of picturesque Skookum Butte is nice. The Bitterroot Range scenery is always beautiful. You could also pop by Tag Alder Lake since you're here at Granite Lake; it's nearby. Granite Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Lolo Creek is a wonderful local campground. You find the 13-mile-from-beginning-to-end Off Elk Meadows Road to Crooked Creek section
of Brushy Fork nearby; this is a grade IV-V+ whitewater run. It may be said that this run of Brushy Fork is a place for expert kayak paddling.
