Gooseneck Lake is pretty waterless usually; June is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is February. The summit of Bighorn Crags can be seen from Gooseneck Lake; this neighborhood is dominated by the Bighorn Crags. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in close proximity to Gooseneck Lake. A good spot for whitewater paddling close to Gooseneck Lake       is Panther Creek, and Gooseneck Lake is a brilliant site to visit for more than one day, Yellowjacket Campground is a brilliant site to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Gooseneck Lake without first going for a hike along the Ship Island Trail; a lake nearby is Heart Lake. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Camas Creek; the Clear Creek Trail offers hiking at its best.
