     Gooseneck Lake is always a pleasure to visit. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Salmon River Mountains will keep you coming back over and over. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Ship Island Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get drenched paddling on Panther Creek, and the top of Bighorn Crags is easily spotted from Gooseneck Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Salmon River Mountains. While you're here at Gooseneck Lake, you could also pop by  
   scenic Crater Lake, and Gooseneck Lake is right by the Waterfall Trail.
Float down the rapids of Camas Creek in a kayak; hiking along the Clear Creek Trail is good fun. A range like the Bighorn Crags here at Gooseneck Lake is always wonderful; if you came for an overnight stay Crags Campground is a perfect spot to camp. It is very dry here at Gooseneck Lake usually; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with
 
               the least amount of precipitation.
Gooseneck Lake is a beautiful lake in the Salmon River Mountains. And that's not all you can do here at Gooseneck Lake. Glacier Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and Yellowjacket Campground is a tremendous local campground. For the duration of the summertime at Gooseneck Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's, and the nighttime is a bit cooler of course, generally in the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's while Gooseneck Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's.
