The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Salmon River Mountains. All year is a nice time in the Salmon River Mountains if you love the outdoors. You don’t have to go far from Goose Lake to make out the water at Goose Lake Dam, and you can go for a hike on the Crestline Trail. Around Goose Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; all through       May this area sees the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Western Mountain Lodge is a fine location to get some rest, and great hiking is available along the Box Lake Trail. Going for a hike on the Lava Butte Trail is always a good adventure, and camping is available at Grouse Campground. All through the months of summer here at Goose Lake, high temperatures frequently get into the 90's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently                  in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Goose Lake temperatures drop to the 20's.
