The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful. You clearly should like the Salmon River Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Panther Creek, and a lake nearby is Dome Lake. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! Goat Lake is excellent! While you're here at Goat Lake you can take a hike along the Gant Ridge Trail, and hiking along       the Crags Trail is wonderful fun. Beehive can be made out from Goat Lake; Long Tom Campground is a good campground nearby. Goat Lake gets very little rain; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Panther Creek offers some great whitewater, and Roaring Creek Lakes is a nearby lake that you could explore. Man, is there a lot of exciting stuff to do in the                  Salmon River Mountains. At Goat Lake during the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's while overnight lows are mostly in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Goat Lake drop into the 0's.
