This lake is one of the great places here in the Clearwater Mountains. And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable things just keep reading. Poet Creek Campground is a nice campground here, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Goat Lake; Nez Perce Trail is a great local trail. Summer at Goat Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs       in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Goat Lake sink into the 10's. Sheep Spring is always fun to check out, and the panorama of Sheep Hill is delightful. Be careful coming to the Clearwater Mountains, you might not ever want to go back home again. The Chamberlain Trail offers hiking at its best. The yearly rain here at Goat Lake is about average; January is when you get the most snow here, and the driest month of the                  year is July. Whitewater paddling is good on Selway River, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Old Nez Perce Indian Trail. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Salmon River, and if you came for an overnight stay Bruin Creek Campground is a good place to camp. Yeah, come up here to the Clearwater Mountains for a fine time.
