This lake is one of the great places here in the Clearwater Mountains. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing stuff, what a great earth it would be. Go for a hike on the Old Nez Perce Indian Trail, and there are splendid places to explore along the Chamberlain Trail. There's whitewater on Selway River for all you adrenaline people, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself       at Sheep Spring. This lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on Salmon River, and from Goat Lake you obtain a great vista of Sheep Hill. From a rainfall point of view Goat Lake is a quite normal site; during January this area sees the most snow, and the driest month of the year is July. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Clearwater Mountains has to offer. If you crave a little side spree, try Dead Man Saddle,                  and camping is available at Poet Creek Campground. Going for a hike on the Nez Perce Trail is always a good adventure, and camping at Bruin Creek Campground is always a wonderful experience. Summertime at Goat Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and overnight lows at Goat Lake through the wintertime mostly fall into the 10's.
