Going for a hike along the Lava Butte Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; whitewater paddling is nice on Hard Creek. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling       on Little Salmon River; camping at Spring Bar Campground is always a pleasant experience. So much exciting stuff in the Salmon River Mountains, just unbelievable. While you're here at Goat Lake you can take a hike along the Broken Leg Trail; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Mary Lake. The warmest time of the year at Goat Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures                  descend down into the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Goat Lake are in the 20's. Not much rain falls here at Goat Lake; May is the month that gets the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month.
