Yeah, come here to Gentian Lake for a tremendous time. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Gentian Lake has to offer, you can camp at Crags Campground; do pop by Airplane Lake, it's a pretty lake. Hiking along the Waterfall Trail is tremendous fun; Heart Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. So many entertaining things to do in the Salmon River Mountains, not       enough time. Take a hike on the Ship Island Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The peaks of the Bighorn Crags dominate the scenery of this area, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Panther Creek. Stay the night at Yellowjacket Campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Camas Creek offers some tremendous whitewater. At Gentian Lake you don’t see much rain; most of the rain falls during June, and February                  is when it's the driest. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Gentian Lake highs are commonly in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Gentian Lake. This site, the Salmon River Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Here at Gentian Lake you can make out Bighorn Crags; going for a hike along the Clear Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity.
