    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Gentian Lake. This is a perfect area for folks who like lakes. Big Boulder Lakes is a lake close by, and The Kettles is a charming location any time of year. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Salmon River - Yankee Fork; Lee Peak is clearly visible from Gentian Lake.
Gentian Lake is mostly a reasonably dried up place; most of the snow falls throughout
 
   December, and July on the other hand is the driest. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Gentian Lake temperatures are usually in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are generally in the 20's; overnight lows at Gentian Lake during the wintertime generally fall into the-10's. There is a splendid hiking trail in the vicinity of Gentian Lake called the Yellow Belly Trail. There's so much  
               to do here at Gentian Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Marshall Creek Campground is a fine location for that.
Gentian Lake truly is in the middle of a gorgeous outdoors paradise. Bighorn Creek is right next door to Gentian Lake and is always a bliss to stop at, and after a long day outdoors Redfish Lake Lodge is a tremendous location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. The Gunsight is a good location to explore; delightful skiing awaits you at Sun Valley. If you come at the right time of year, Salmon River offers some magnificent whitewater; some out of the ordinary geology is available here, Chinese Wall is right here.
Gentian Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Holman Creek Campground is a pleasant local campground, and dry warm beds await you at Stanley High Country Inn.
