Yeah, come here to Gem Lake for a great time. Gem Lake is right by the Old Boise Trail; if you come at the right time of year, Little Salmon River offers some fine whitewater. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Snake River; lakes are such calm spots, why not stop by Rock Island Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The Heavens Gate Trail offers hiking at its best; on a wonderful day you       obtain a perfect sight of Tower of Babel from Gem Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A wonderful close by hotel is Whitetail Club and Resort. Gem Lake is located in the Wallowa Mountains. Not much rainfall falls here at Gem Lake; May is when you get the most rain here, and July on the other hand is the driest. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Wallowa Mountains. A gorgeous lake like Appendix Lake right next door to Gem Lake is                  a great place to pop by; a good place to camp here at Gem Lake is Seven Devils Campground. All year is a brilliant time in the Wallowa Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. Gem Lake is in a great location in the shadow of the Seven Devils Mountains, and camping is available at Windy Saddle Campground. Take a hike on the Deep Creek Trail, and if you need a site to stay Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge is a great choice. For the duration of the summertime months here at Gem Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 90's, and the night is a little colder of course, usually in the 50's.
