If you are traveling by, why not stop by Gem Lake. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Gem Lake reach the 90's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Gem Lake temperatures plunge to the 20's. If you need a location to stay Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge is a pleasant choice, and camping is available at Windy Saddle Campground. Not much rain falls here at Gem

Yep, outdoors entertaining things truly is plentiful here in the Wallowa Mountains. The vista of Tower of Babel from Gem Lake is charming; a pleasant nearby hotel is Western Mountain Lodge. This lake is so wonderful. You'll come across a wonderful lake called Appendix Lake near Gem Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Gem Lake; Deep Creek Trail is a good local trail.

come here to Gem Lake for a delightful time. Soar down the rapids of Snake River in a kayak; tremendous hiking is available along the Old Boise Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Wallowa Mountains. If you want
a tremendous time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Wallowa Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Little Salmon River; the Seven Devils Mountains makes the scenery here splendid.
This lake is so wonderful. Don't
leave Gem Lake without first going for a hike along the Heavens Gate Trail; camping at Seven Devils Campground is always a brilliant experience.
