This is no spot for people who don’t like to have a good time. Canyon Pines RV Resort is a tremendous local campground, and Devils Hole is a great place. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Whitetail Club and Resort. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Salmon River Mountains. Near Gay Lake you locate the Broken Leg Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and Hazard Creek       is a great whitewater spot close by. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff truly is plentiful here in the Salmon River Mountains. Best Western Salmon Rapids Lodge is a brilliant spot to get some rest; going for a hike on the Heavens Gate Trail is always a good adventure. For the duration of the summer highs here at Gay Lake reach the 90's while night lows are mostly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and night lows at Gay Lake during the winter                  usually drop into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Mary Lake is near Gay Lake, and Gay Lake is a tremendous location to visit for more than one day, Allison Creek Campground is a tremendous location to camp nearby. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful. A fine place for whitewater paddling near Gay Lake is Little Salmon River, and of course, this is a good area for folks who like lakes, Piper Lake is a lake close at hand. It is very arid here at Gay Lake commonly; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while July is typically the driest month.
