This lake is so wonderful. A fine location to camp here at Forage Lake is Hidden Creek Campground; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend St. Joe River. Throughout the summer highs here at Forage Lake reach the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter       at Forage Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Bitterroot Range. There's whitewater on Clearwater River - North Fork for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and if you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - St. Regis is a wonderful choice. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bitterroot Range. If only every location had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great world it would be. On a wonderful                  day you obtain a panorama of Bacon Peak from Forage Lake; since you're here you can take a hike along the Cedar Creek Stock Driveway. Forage Lake is a good place of normal rainfall; the month with most of the snow is January while July is mostly the driest month.
