This lake is one of the great places here in the Salmon River Mountains. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Fawn Lake with night lows in the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Fawn Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. You just ought to have a thing about Fawn Lake. Float down the rapids of Camas Creek in a kayak. Fawn       Lake gets very little rainfall; the month with most of the rain is June while February is generally the driest month. If you come at the right time of year, Panther Creek offers some delightful whitewater, and there's pleasant hiking along the Ship Island Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Crags Campground is a glorious campground here, and wonderful hiking is available along the Waterfall Trail. If the weather is gorgeous, you get a splendid sight of Puddin                  Mountain from Fawn Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Yellowjacket Campground is a wonderful location to camp. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Salmon River Mountains.
