     Emerald Lake is a nice lake to visit. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. Why not camp at Holman Creek Campground while you're here at Emerald Lake; if you want to go to some exciting stuff, go to Castle Peak. After a long day outdoors Clarion Inn Ketchum is a glorious location to spend a night or two. Emerald Lake is pretty dried out mostly; during December this area sees the most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture.
In case you
 
   don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Salmon River, and if you came for an overnight stay Marshall Creek Campground is a pleasant location to camp. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Salmon River - Yankee Fork, and a pretty lake like Born Lakes is a pleasant spot to go to. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Emerald Lake; through summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. Daytime highs throughout the winter  
               are in the 20's while Emerald Lake nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the-10's.
This lake is so wonderful. Chamberlain Basin is a nice site here at Emerald Lake; don't leave Emerald Lake without first going for a hike along the Yellow Belly Trail. A glorious place to stop by near Emerald Lake is Windy Devil, and you can hit the slopes at Sun Valley close at hand.
